I
became a Youssef Chahine fan, naturally, since I was young, very young when
I saw Bab el Hadid for the first time, and saw his exceptional presentation
as an actor, and heard about the story the American refusing him a prize,
cause they didn't believe "he was really acting in that movie". And maybe
because I understood later that he is one of the few directors with a
message, and something to say, and working hard and seriously for that. I
also love his choices of actors and actresses, and the way he directs them. |

I have always dreamt of the
day I would stand behind the camera and say "skoot hansawar"...A dream too
far that never visioned light...In watching Joes' movies I realized how much
of the world of creativity and dream am missing. I knew that all the years
that have passed by me have been dull, meaningless, colorless...I have
always adored Joe, both he artist and the person. I loved his frankness and
openness that often he was accused of. I loved his creativity and mastery of
giving birth to his brave and bold ideas...I've always dreamed of meeting
him, maybe some of my thirst to his art will be satisfied. Until it was time
to my trip to Cairo. I saw him there sitting in Beirut's Airport, his eyes
shining with new ideas. I could never imagine that my dream was turning into
a reality. That I was seeing him flesh and blood. Can't forget when he
looked at me and with all due respect told me "bonjour"...It was a dream
come true...Along him with khalid yousif , the student! I looked at him and
envied him " why couldn't I be in his place near the master..."Khalid
Youssif initiated a talk with me but suddenly I had to apart from my dream
for some dumb reasons... then were grave! |

بتمنى لما كمل اخراج انك تساعدني يا استاذ و المبدع مبدع حتى لو الزمن تغير .يوسف شاهين صورة رسمتها الدنيا .... صورة اول متشوفها بتقول شو هذا ... بس هذه الصورة اغتزلت ابداع و تالق و اتقان... لما تحضر فيلم لشاهين تقول ششو هذا ما فهمت شي بس احضروا كمان مرة ولا يمكن تكره لو حضرته 1000 مرة ... و الحلو انه كل فيلم و اخراجه رائع و متميز و مش بس كان و كمان كل المهراجانات.. |
